The guest of April's Polityka Salon was Zyta Gilowska - one of main politician of Citizens Platform. Due to Prof. Zyta Gilowska, in accordance with recent news, it is not Law and Justice but Citizens Platform that is leading 3 of 5 recent polls. "But we are aware that Law and Justice (PiS) is going to compete with us fiercely" - she added. She assured that she is satisfied with that situation as in result both parties are going to gain more votes and candidates for Parliament in next elections.
What would she change as a Minister of Finance? Most of all the way of managing of public finances; she would simplify tax system and reduce tax rates, she would also focus on working out a strategy of Poland's euro zone entry. Zyta Gilowska admitted that an increase in food prices could appear as a result of flat tax rates (15% income tax and 15% VAT). "We have taken some necessary precautions to avoid that situation" - she said.
Moreover, her political party opts for careful reform of Polish health care - It will not be a revolution - she said, but she also added, that we can't afford for providing every medical service in Poland for free. (Dziennik Polski)
