Henryk Mikołaj Górecki in the triple role:
As a composer, maestro as well as jubilee MH Gorecki performed last night in Philharmonic. The public fell in love with "Song of praise" written for the city of Mainz. It was performed by the Choir of Philharmonic and the Choir of Polish Radio. The jubilee was maestro himself. Before the premiere performance of that composition, another work of Gorecki`s was heard "Cantata about Saint Wojciech". It was performed by mixed choir and played on organs, two pianos and drums. Lyrics were written by the composer. The masterpiece was composed while 4th Pope` s Pilgrimage to Poland.
The next song was "My guest, sit under my leaf". It was performed by a capella by mixed choir. Jan Kochanowski is the author of the lyrics. Gorecki had written that song for his son.
The final part of that event was not musical. The composer had his birthday 4 days before that concert, so he was given flowers, presents and received birthday greetings from Polish PM Jerzy Buzek, province governor Ryszard Maslowski and marshal Jan Wieczorkowski. Gorecki also received a medal "Krakow 2000" from vice president Jerzy Jedlinski.
The profits from that concert will be the first income to the HM Gorecki` s Scholarship Founds which will bring to life The Institute of Art Association.

Birthday concert
All of the tickets were sold many days before the concert. From the very beginning everybody knew that the Birthday Concert would be a great event. The public heard "Cantata about saint Wojciech". The jubilee was the maestro himself. He received the medal "Krakow 2000" and greetings from Jerzy Buzek.
