The 7th Annual International Contemporary
Chamber Music Competition 10 -14 of September 2003
Proceeding from the Jury meeting on 10 - 12 of September 2003
The Jury including: Chairman of the Jury, Professor Marek Stachowski Paul Patterson Marta Ptaszyńska Jaring Walta Lydia Wong
Has listened to all performances by soloists, duos, trios and quartets and quintets between September 10th and September 12th 2003 and evaluated the level of the competition as very, very high.
The Jury decided to grant: Grand Prix of the 7th Annual International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition, in the amount of 30 000 PLN and the statuette to QNG 138 recorder quartet from Germany and Holland: Susanne Frőhlich, Andrea Guttmann, Hannah Pape, Heide Schwarz
The Jury granted the Special Award for the best performance of a work written by a Polish composer, in the amount of 10 000 PLN and the statuette to: the duo: Barbara Kuster (violin - Switzerland) and Rostislav Kojevnikov (violin - Russia) for the performance of "Momente für zwei violinen" by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki
The Special Prize for the best performance of a piece written by a Dutch composer in the amount of 2000 PLN went to QNG 138 recorder quartet from Germany and Holland: Susanne Frőhlich, Andrea Guttmann, Hannah Pape, Heide Schwarz for the performance of : "How do we get up there?." by Chiel Meijering
The first prize in the soloist category, in the amount of 6000 PLN and the statuette went to: Michał Siciński (clarinet - Poland)
The second prize in the soloist category in the amount of 2000 PLN and the statuette went to: Julien Feltrin (recorder - France)
The third prize in the soloist category in the amount of 1000 PLN and the statuette went to ex aequo: Marcin Ożóg (double bass - Poland) and Aleksiej Fralou (bassoon - Byelorussia)
The first prize in the duo category, the Award of the President of the City of Cracow, in the amount of 8000 PLN and the statuette went to: Barbara Kuster ( violin - Switzerland) and Rostislav Kojevnikov (violin - Russia)
The second prize in the duo category in the amount of 2500 PLN. and the statuette went to the duo Arystis: Elwira Ślązak (percussion - Poland) and Gabriel Collet (percussion - France)
The third prize in the duo category in the amount of 1500 PLN. and the statuette went to duo Sooyka & Sooyka: Maciej Sójka (clarinet) and Paweł Sójka (accordion)
The first prize in the trio category in the amount of 10 000 PLN and the statuette went to Sentire Trio from Poland : Justyna Matusik (flute), Beata Urbanek (cello) and Dominik Wania (piano)
The second prize in the trio category in the amount of 3000 PLN and the statuette went to: Violarium Trio from Poland: Anna Kozera (violin), Mariusz Grochowski (viola), Łukasz Szymakowski (cello)
The third prize in the trio category in the amount of 2000 PLN and the statuette went to Warsaw Brass Trio: Lubomir Jarosz (flugelhorn - Poland), Henryk Kowalewicz (horn - Poland) and Zoltan Kiss (trombone - Hungary)
The first prize in the quartet and quintet category in the amount of 12 000 PLN. and the statuette went to the quartet from Germany and Holland: QNG 138: Susanne Frőhlich, Andrea Guttmann, Hannah Pape, Heide Schwarz
The second prize in the quartet and quintet category in the amount of 3500 PLN and the statuette went to Royal String Quartet from Poland : Izabella Szałaj - Zimak (violin), Elwira Przybyłowska (violin), Marek Czech (viola) Michał Pepol (cello)
The third prize in the quartet and quintet category was NOT AWARDED
